...the heroic figure of the cowboy, and the way he lives his code, the Code of the West. It grew into Cowboy Ethics, a set of simple, timeless principles that all Americans can share. 

And became a grassroots movement of people who agree that individual character and personal principle — not more laws and regulations — are the keys to building a better world. “Doing the right thing” isn’t something you can mandate or legislate; it can only be inspired.

Helping to provide that inspiration is the mission of the CENTER FOR COWBOY ETHICS & LEADERSHIP. Through ideas, words and images, we encourage people to examine the personal values and principles that anchor their lives, guide their actions, and nourish their sense of deeper purpose. In the process the CENTER serves as a catalyst, empowering individuals and organizations to share their inspiration with others. If enough of us feel moved to do that, we can make a difference.
